Susan Salvucci

Daughter, Storykeeper, and Curator of Around the Kitchen Table

Susan Salvucci is the daughter of Henrietta “Sally” Bakke Frasso and the devoted steward of her mother’s memoir. Although Sally wrote these memories in her own words, Susan has lovingly prepared them for publication so that her mother’s stories—and the family history held within them—can be shared and preserved.

In the 1980s, Sally told Susan that she was writing a book and asked if she would type it for her. Susan, then in her twenties, did not yet realize how meaningful that request would become. Years later, while cleaning a closet at the family cottage, she discovered her mother’s manuscript. From the moment she read its title, she felt drawn into the memories Sally had left behind—and given a second chance to complete what her mother had once asked of her.

Around the Kitchen Table: Days Remembered is Sally’s life in her own voice: a loving record of family, memory, and the events that defined days gone by. By bringing the manuscript to publication, Susan honors both her mother’s words and the generations whose stories live within them.

Style and Works

Susan has known Elizabeth for over 11 years. Elizabeth and her son, Anthony, have been best friends, and would often see Elizabeth at the house or for Karaoke on Thursdays. When Elizabeth decided to build Little Ellie's Oddities, Susan was encouraging and supportive, however it wasn't until the summer of 2026, that Susan off-handedly mentioned her mother had asked her to write her memoir. With a sudden realization between an aunt and niece, Elizabeth smiled and said, "You want to write that now?"

Susan's attention to detail and rich scenery creates a sense of specific emotion; her sharp mind picking up and carrying the secret language of writing in a way that even inspires Elizabeth. Always one to make a joke, smile and laugh before she cries, Susan delivers a strong ability to immerse the reader into a life they never knew but still yearn to go back in time for.

Around the Kitchen Table: Days Remembered

A book that follows the beautiful life of Henrietta Bakke-Frasso from the early hardships of the Great Depression to the haunted family Farmhouse.

The Farmhouse

The farmhouse was a beautiful fourteen-room home in Dracut, designed and built by Sally’s grandfather in the 1920s. Surrounded by gardens, berry patches, barns, and animals—including cows, pigs, chickens, and ducks—it was a lively, working farm centered around family. Its kitchen was the heart of the home, filled with giant pancakes, Johnny cake, blueberry dishes, and Sunday batches of homemade ice cream. Children played in the hayloft, sketched on orange crates beside the barn, helped in the garden, and sometimes kept baby chicks warm behind the stove. More than a house, the farmhouse represented Sally’s happiest childhood summers: a place of hard work, laughter, abundance, and memories she carried throughout her life.
